Silver Necklace Set
A collar of pierced silver and coloured inlay, hung with five drops of green quartz.
The collar is built as a row of small panels, alternating — pierced silver, then colour, then pierced silver again. The silver panels are cut through so light passes behind them; the coloured ones are set flush and flat, and they are what the eye lands on first.
Below the collar hang five drops of green quartz, each one a tumbled slab rather than a cut gem, so the colour shifts from a pale sea-green at the edge to near-black at the centre. Between them fall small enamelled leaves in red, blue, amber and green — the same palette as the collar, repeated small.

- Never use a silver dip, an ultrasonic cleaner or a polishing liquid. A dip strips the darkened recesses that give oxidised silver its depth, and it attacks the coloured inlay as well.
- Wipe with a soft dry cloth after wearing, working around the coloured panels rather than across them.
- Put it on last, once perfume and hairspray have dried, and keep it away from water.
- Store flat in the pouch provided. The quartz drops are the part most likely to knock against something — keep them off hard surfaces.

What is green quartz?
Quartz is one of the most common gem materials on earth, and green is one of the colours it takes. These drops are cut as tumbled slabs rather than faceted stones, which is why they read as deep, soft colour rather than sparkle.
Look closely at the five on the necklace and no two are the same. One is almost blue at the edge, another goes nearly black at the centre. Uniform colour across all five would be the sign of glass.
How does 16 inches sit?
Sixteen inches puts the collar on the collarbone, high and close, with the quartz drops falling just below it onto the upper chest. It is worn as a collar, not as a pendant on a chain.
The chain is adjustable, so it can be let out a little for comfort, but the design assumes the shorter setting — dropped low, the curved collar stops following the neck and the whole shape goes slack.
Do the earrings come with it?
Yes. The price is for the complete set: the collar and the 7.5 cm earrings, which carry the same colours in a rosette above a crescent, finished with a fringe of small silver drops.
Is it too much colour to wear?
It is less than it looks. Red, cobalt, amber and green in small, separated pieces read as one pattern rather than four competing colours — the same way a printed border does. What makes it easy to wear is that no single colour dominates, so it does not need matching to.
The piece to be careful with is the earring, at 7.5 cm. Wear the hair back or tucked, or the lower fringe disappears.
What should I wear it with?
Something plain and pale. Ivory, cream, pale grey, mint, soft gold — a quiet field that lets the colour do its work. It sits beautifully on a plain silk or chiffon saree, and equally well on a plain kurta.
Avoid printed or heavily worked fabric. The collar already carries four colours, a pierced metal pattern and five stones; a busy drape turns all of it into noise.
How do I clean it?
A soft dry cloth and nothing else. No dips, no ultrasonic cleaners, no chemical polish — they remove the oxidation that makes this silver read as depth rather than shine, and they can dull or lift the coloured inlay.
If the silver darkens further over years, that is the finish maturing rather than tarnish. If it ever needs real cleaning, bring it back to us rather than to a high-street polisher.
