Seven Graduated Strands · Freshwater Pearl

The Queen
Pearl Necklace

Seven graduated strands falling one below the next — a necklace that fills the neckline instead of drawing a line across it.

A single strand of pearls draws one line at the throat. Seven does something else entirely — each layer sits a little lower than the one above, so the pearls gather and fall as a body of light rather than a single row.

And the pearls are not one size. Each strand is graduated: the smallest pearls sit at the top, near the clasp, and grow steadily larger as the strand descends to its lowest point. That is what gives the necklace its shape — it narrows at the neck and swells at the centre, following the body instead of hanging flat across it.

The Seven

Layered lengths, each falling clear of the one above, so the drape stays open and moves as you do.

The Pearls

Authentic freshwater pearls, each with its own surface and light — no two identical, and none of them imitation.

The Graduation

Pearls reduce in size as the strand rises — smallest at the clasp, largest at the fall. The shape is built, not accidental.

What the price includes

Care
  • Wipe gently with a soft cloth after wearing.
  • Lay it flat in the pouch provided rather than folding or hanging it — seven strands tangle when they are bunched.
  • Keep away from water, perfume and harsh chemicals. Put the necklace on last, once everything else has dried.

Questions

What exactly comes with this price?

The necklace alone. Everything else in the photographs — earrings, bangles, anything worn alongside it — is styled for the shoot and sold separately.

Why do the pearls change size along the strand?

Because the necklace is graduated. The smallest pearls sit at the top, closest to the clasp, and each pearl along the strand is slightly larger than the one before it, until the largest reach the lowest point of the fall.

It is done for shape. A strand of one size hangs as a flat ring; a graduated strand narrows at the neck and widens where the necklace rests, so it follows the body. It also takes far more sorting, since every pearl has to be matched to a place in the sequence rather than simply to its neighbours.

Are the pearls real?

Yes. These are authentic freshwater pearls, not glass, shell or resin imitations. Real pearl varies slightly from bead to bead in shape and surface, and warms against the skin as you wear it — an imitation stays cool and looks identical bead to bead.

Is a seven-strand necklace heavy to wear?

It has more presence than a single strand, but the weight is spread across seven separate lines and sits on the collarbone rather than pulling from one point at the back of the neck. The graduation helps here too — the lighter pearls carry the weight at the neck, and the heavier ones rest at the front where they are supported.

It does need bare neckline to be seen properly. Against a high collar or a heavy dupatta the layers get lost.

How does the adjustable length work?

The clasp runs onto an extender chain, so the necklace closes anywhere between 18 and 22 inches. At the shortest setting the top strand sits close to the base of the throat; at the longest it drops onto the chest and the lower layers fall further apart.

If you are unsure, measure where you would like the top strand to fall and set the clasp about half an inch longer for comfort.

How do I store it without the strands tangling?

Lay it flat, fully open, in the pouch it arrives in — never folded, bunched or hung on a hook. Seven strands twist around each other the moment they are gathered, and untwisting a knotted layer risks the thread.

Keep it away from harder stones and metal chains in the same box, since pearl scratches easily.
