Styling tips

  • With kurtas and sarees: the deep blue and gold stand out against cream, ivory, white, maroon and green.
  • For festivals and pujas: wear them on Mahashivratri, Sawan Mondays or at family pujas, with a simple outfit.
  • With white or ivory kurtas: the blue and the red-brown rudraksha pop against plain colours.
  • With western outfits: wear them with a white shirt, a black dress or a linen co-ord for a bold, meaningful accent.
  • Keep the rest light: skip heavy necklaces so the earrings stay the focus.
  • Match the range: pair them with a rudraksha mala or a plain gold chain, and choose one statement piece at a time.
  • Unisex style: the octagon and rudraksha suit men too, if the size and fitting match.
  • Gifting angle: they suit Mahashivratri, birthdays, housewarmings and gifts for Shiva

1. What are the Shiva tilak earrings?
They are earrings inspired by Shiva’s symbols. Each has an octagonal blue face with the tripundra (Shaiva tilak) at the centre, a gold plated frame with an engraved border, and a rudraksha bead drop.

2. What is the tripundra?
The tripundra is the Shaiva tilak, three horizontal lines usually made with sacred ash (bhasma). It is worn by devotees of Shiva. The red mark at the centre appears in some traditions and designs. Meanings vary by tradition.

3. What is a rudraksha?
Rudraksha is the dried seed of the Elaeocarpus tree, traditionally used as prayer beads by devotees of Shiva. Here it is a decorative drop.
