Styling tips

  • On a saree: pin it at the shoulder or on the pallu border, where the green disc and gold stand out against cream, maroon, navy and temple-border silks.
  • On a dupatta: use it to secure the drape on a thick border or heavier fabric.
  • For Diwali and Dhanteras: wear it with simple gold-tone earrings and let the brooch be the focal point.
  • On a kurta or jacket: place it near the collar or on a lapel for a quiet traditional accent.
  • Keeep it on the upper body: the shoulder or chest suits the motifs best.
  • Keep the rest light: skip other pins close to it, so the drop hangs clearly.
  • Match the range: pair it with the Lakshmi charan bracelet or earrings, but choose one or two statement pieces at a time.
  • Gifting angle: it suits Diwali, Dhanteras, housewarmings and gifts for brides.

1. What is the Lakshmi charan brooch?
It is a brooch inspired by the charan (footprints) of Goddess Lakshmi. This one has a green disc with a gold charan mark, a lotus charm and a pearl drop, in a gold plated finish.

2. What is the charan?
Charan means feet. Lakshmi’s footprints are drawn at doorways during Diwali and Dhanteras to welcome her into the home. Here the charan is a decorative mark on the green disc.

3. Why the lotus?
The lotus is the flower most associated with Lakshmi, who is often shown seated on one. It is linked with purity, grace and quiet abundance.
